Drag & Drop

Drag and drop lets you reorder todos within a section or move them between the active and completed sections. It's available on desktop — on mobile, use swipe gestures instead.

How to drag

Click and hold anywhere on a todo card to start dragging. The card lifts with a subtle animation and a lift sound plays. Your cursor changes to a grab icon when hovering over a card.

Reordering within a section

Drag a todo up or down within the active section to change its position. Other todos shift out of the way as you move. Release to drop the todo in its new position. A drop sound plays on release.

You can also reorder with the keyboard: select a todo with the arrow keys, then press Ctrl/⌘ + ↑ / ↓ to move it up or down.

Cross-section dragging

You can drag a todo from the active section into the completed section to mark it as done, or from the completed section back to the active section to reinstate it. The sections highlight as valid drop targets when you hover over them.

Sound feedback

Drag and drop uses low sine-tone sounds to provide audio feedback. A lift sound plays when you pick up a todo, and a drop sound when you release it. These sounds can be toggled in settings.

Tips

• Drag and drop is a desktop feature. On touch devices, use swipe gestures to manage your todos.
• Reordering syncs in real time. Collaborators will see the new order immediately.
